11 flashcards and 1 blank — one A4 sheet

  1. Print on A4, portrait, 1 sheet.
  2. In the print dialog set scale to 100% — not “Fit to page”. Twelve cells fill an A4 exactly, so any shrinking makes them a size that is nearly right and isn’t.
  3. Turn Background graphics on. On door and window the teal is what tells the word from the grey house around it.
  4. Cut along the dashed lines. Card stock, or paper glued to card, if they are going to last.

One set, one stripe: teal, half the card’s width. The full-width teal cards are flashcards-03; these are the short-stripe teal ones. Chips: Furniture (6) · Room (3) · Things (2) · one Your own to draw and write. Same 70 × 74 mm as flashcards-02 through -09, so they shuffle into that pile.

⚠ Three of these words are already cards in this pile: door and window on flashcards-03, table on flashcards-02. They are drawn exactly the same way here on purpose, so two cards that look alike teach one word twice. phone is also on flashcards-01, which is the bigger cards and a different pile.

Teach these in pairs. table and desk: the desk is the same top with drawers. chair and armchair: the armchair has arms and is soft. And chair with seat from flashcards-08, where only the part you sit on is coloured. cupboard and bookcase: doors that close versus shelves you can see into. This banner does not print.
