15 animal flashcards — two A4 sheets

  1. Print on A4, portrait, 2 sheets.
  2. In the print dialog set scale to 100% — not “Fit to page”. Twelve cards fill an A4 exactly, so any shrinking makes them a size that is nearly right and isn’t.
  3. Turn Background graphics on. Every picture on these two sheets is an emoji, and a greyscale print turns all fifteen into flat grey shapes — this is the sheet where that one setting costs the most.
  4. Cut along the dashed lines. Card stock, or paper glued to card, if they are going to last.

One set, one stripe: all fifteen are brick red, so they sort back together by edge without reading. Three chips inside it — Farm (5) · Wild (5) · Small creatures (5). Same 70 × 74 mm as flashcards-02, -03 and -04, so these shuffle into that pile; they are not the size of flashcards-01’s bigger cards.

⚠ Check three pictures before you cut. The donkey, the polar bear and the jellyfish use newer emoji than anything else in this family. On this machine they render; on an older tablet or phone the donkey and the jellyfish would come out as an empty box. If you see a box, print from a different device — the words are fine, it is only the glyph.

⚠ snake is also on flashcards-04, at this same size, so a merged pile holds two of it. Kept because no replacement was named — say a word and it swaps. The blank cards at the end of each sheet are deliberate: picture box, ruled line, write your own. This banner does not print.
